Marriage is a drama

Three years ago, me and my little sister, Lily, got ourselves into a real mess – a secret marriage with these two hotshot brothers, the Caldwells. I ended up hitched to Blake, the CEO big brother, while Lily got stuck with Jake, the VP little brother.
My dad practically keeled over on the bus ride here. He just wanted to see us get married. I spent two freakin’ days on my knees outside Blake’s penthouse, begging him to play along. He finally agreed to go through with it. But when the time came, he was nowhere to be found. Neither was his brother, Jake, for that matter.
Dad collapsed right there. Lily was a mess, sobbing next to him. I was shaking so bad, I could barely dial Blake’s number. He finally picked up after I called three times, his voice all annoyed when he heard my voice.
“Can’t you ever lay off with the ‘Dad’s dying’ routine? I said I’d do it, didn’t I? Summer cut her finger, okay? I had to rush her to the ER! It’s your fault she got hurt in the first place! Can’t you leave me alone for once?”
Before I could even get a word out, he hung up and blocked my number.
Lily, hearing all this, immediately called her husband, Jake, pleading with him to get to the wedding. All she got was a lecture.
“Seriously, Lily? You’re like the girl who cried wolf! Every time Summer gets a boo-boo, your dad’s on his deathbed? I’m over it! I have to pay Summer’s hospital bill. Don’t waste my time!”
He hung up and Dad kicked the bucket right there. He passed away on the floor.
Our wedding turned into Dad’s funeral.
Lily and I handled everything and texted the Caldwell brothers to file for divorce.
But you know what they did? They showed up at our house with Summer freaking out.
1.
The funeral ended late and Lily and I had to carry on with the wedding and put on dresses, which was the most difficult thing I have ever done.
It had been ten hours since I sent my divorce message to Blake and he hadn’t bothered to respond. This wasn’t the first time they’d ditched us for Summer. I just never thought they’d put their obsession with her above a divorce.
We finished packing our bags and Dad’s old clothes, ready to bail. That’s when they finally strolled in, Summer trailing behind, like they were expecting us to bow down to them.
The three of them were laughing it up until they saw Lily and me. Then, Blake’s face soured, like he smelled something bad. He asked me, “Where do you think you are going? What is the matter? I already explained what happened today.”
He just stared at my tired and red eyes and said, “The wedding was a sham, and Summer was rushed to the hospital. What else could I have done? We will get another one later, ok?”
“Summer was going to get Dad a dish from the kitchen. She cut herself making it. I did not blame you, but I feel like I need to.”
Lily and I stood together quietly as he and Jake doted on her.
Summer looked at our bags and turned to Blake. “Oh, please do not say it that way. It was my fault I wasted your wedding. It was my mistake.”
She looked to me and Lily and asked, “Why are you packing bags? Is your dad coming to live with you? I am so sorry. I am new here, and I did not want to be alone, so I went with them. I just need to be around people sometimes.”
I looked at her tiny band-aid and found it pathetic.
“It is ok. You can tell me these things. How about I am a sister to you? You are so friendly.”
She just smiled to me.
In that moment, I saw Dad die.
I bit my tongue to bring myself back to the present. “I have a real sister. You are a child.”
Blake started to get angrier. “You need to apologize to Summer, now! She made a great meal for your dad, and you hate her! You need to stop now!”
I smirked and looked in his hands at a box he held. “I can apologize, or I can divorce you. You do not get both.”
Lily said, “We want a divorce.”
We did not want to be here for a moment longer.
Jake went from soft to ballistic and shot out of his seat.
2.
“What did you say?”
I did not talk to him and went to move Lily away. He grabbed her arm.
He pulled her to himself. “Divorce because I took Summer to the hospital? Are you insane?”
“I am helping her. She was hurt because of your dad! You are threatening me?”
“Great, lets divorce. I want to divorce!”
The bag went onto the ground as he kicked it.
He turned purple with rage.
I pulled Lily behind me.
Lily has always been a coward and wanted to cry in this moment.
I realized how I had let my sister be stuck with him.
Jake beat the bag until everything was gone.
Dad’s things were gone.
He was too slow to stop, and the shoes landed on the shirt.
I screamed as I pushed him away.
“Stop! Get away!”
Blake was the ice king and looked at me with flames.
“Linda, I can only take so much! You are testing me!”
I went to protect Dad’s things.
Jake and Blake looked at each other. Blake gave Summer the meal.
Blake looked at the clothes and tossed them.
He gave himself a smoke.
The lighter was in his hand.
“You think you can do what you want? You can have these rags, ok?”
He set everything on fire.
I called out “No!”
Jake held me as Lily screamed.
Lily did the unthinkable.
Lily bit him.
Lily slapped his face.
Everyone froze.
Summer set the meal down and held Lily.
“Calm down. Jake did not mean to do that!
Lily then pulled her hair.
Summer fell down.
Blake went purple in the face and pulled Lily from Summer.
He knocked her head on the wall.
Three times until she bled.
I had no control.
Within minutes, everything was dead.
3.
My world was collapsing.
I was too weak to say anything.
Tears came down.
I thought I was done.
I should have known when he was ready to secretly marry.
Jake started to clean his hands.
He went to Summer.
She cried.
Jake handed her a towel.
I felt bad for the last three years.
I touched Lily and tried to leave.
But Summer would not let it go.
Summer grabbed the meal and showed us.
“I am so sorry. Please, take this for him.”
I then looked at the reason for my dad being dead.
I grabbed the meal and hit her with it.
It fell over her head as meat mixed with shampoo.
“Stop it! You are disgusting!”
Blake just watched.
He kicked me in the gut.
He was hugging Summer as she got hurt.
I dropped.
Summer’s face was a mess.
Blake ripped his shirt off and tossed it.
He went to her and ripped me from her.
“Blake, I can’t, it is my fault. I thought the tickets were fake, and I would make something before. She hates me.”
Jake gave her the towel.
I went purple.
Dad had never been on a plane.
He said he would not spend the money.
I yelled, “Shut up! You will not talk about him!”
Blake slapped me.
He yelled, “You shut up! Summer made it all for you!”
“Why did he do that?”
4.
I smirked.
The sham wedding.
Summer had never wanted to be there.
She had planned it all.
Blake thought I was wrong.
“I am setting up a new company to hire you for Summer’s wedding, but nevermind.”
“I grabbed his arm and said:
“More? It will all fail! You will never get the chance.
“Apologize or I will make him dead!”
He pulled me from him.
He thought he was the boss. My blood was boiling as my fist shook.
“You shut up! All three of you!”
He went to the throat.
Summer pulled him off me.
Summer went to me, and Lily pushed her away.
She went to the leg of the chair and cried.
Jake yelled at Lily.
“You need to get hit again! I am done with this.”
Blake was enraged.
I stood with Lily, ready to leave as he told us:
“Apologize to Summer!”
The hope was now gone.
I yelled, “You are nothing to me. Apologize to my dad, you freak!”
“No, you are a group of freaks that were made for one another!”
I turned to leave as Blake grabbed me.
Lily screamed.
Blake made me kneel as he crushed my leg.
He called his assistant as he yelled, “You will be dead soon. Apologize!”
He called the assistant as his eyes were full of hate.
I then spit at him.
He then said, “Cancel the wedding. Make a funeral. In three years he will die! Do not give Summer an appointment.”
“Sir, Mr. Linda is dead. He died at the wedding.”
