Why we keep the lamps lit
Real Novels exists for one simple reason: every book should be free to read. No subscriptions, no paywalls, no accounts, no tracking you across the internet — just shelves of books, open to anyone who walks in.
We are readers first. Our small team hunts down good books, prepares them with care, and shelves about twenty new titles every day. Each one is free to read online in a reader built for the love of the thing, and free to download to keep.
Chosen by people, not algorithms — ranked by readers. Our librarians pick books worth your hours, and the shelves rearrange themselves around what readers actually finish and love.
Readers keep the lamps lit. There are no ads following you around and no premium tiers — if you'd like to help with the servers, the little lamp at the bottom of the homepage accepts oil. That's the whole business model.
We respect the people who make books. If you hold the rights to something on our shelves and want to talk, write to us — we answer, and we act.
